بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Indeed, all praise and thanks are due to Allah, we praise Him, thank Him, seek His guidance, His assistance, and His forgiveness. And we seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our souls and the evil of our sinful deeds.
Whomever Allah guides, no one can misguide, and whomever Allah leaves astray, no one can guide.
Moreover, I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, the One who is unique and has no partners. And I bear witness that Muhammad is Allah’s servant and messenger.
The Wisdom Cultural Islamic Centre was established in Birmingham on May 1, 2017, on the fifth day of the month of Sha’ban, 1438 AH. The centre was opened with the intention of it becoming a shining beacon of guidance that would enlighten the lives of the Muslims in Birmingham and aid them to learn the affairs of their religion, and study the characteristics of the religion that the final Prophet Muhammad, PBUH, established without exaggeration or negligence.
Our aim is to encourage Muslims to follow and adhere to the Prophet’s Sunnah. Allah the Almighty referred to this, in the Quran, by saying:
“And we have not sent you (O Mohammed) except as a mercy to the worlds”.
The city of Birmingham hosts numerous Dawah, educational, and cultural conferences. It houses the Birmingham College of Humanities, a specialist college dedicated to teaching Islamic Sciences, Arabic and Humanities, which is supervised by a group of esteemed academic Professors.
Additionally, the Centre also hosts the British Institute of Quran and Qira’at, an institution devoted to the study of the art of recitation of the Qur’an in the ten different Qira’at (style of reading).
The institute is open to students from around the United Kingdom and is overseen by Prof. Ahmed bin Issa Al-Masrawi, the former grand Sheikh of Qira’at in Egypt.
The Wisdom Cultural Islamic Centre believes in the value of constructive cooperation and integrated coordination with all segments of the Islamic spectrum in the United Kingdom in order to serve the interests and requirements of the Muslim Community in Britain. Additionally, the Centre adheres to the notion of constructive collaboration with all segments of the local community and aims to build bridges of productive cooperation with the United Kingdom’s official authorities.
The Centre’s mission is to develop a generation of Muslims who maintain their Islamic identity, and help them to integrate positively and productively into their British culture, and portray the best image of their tolerant Islamic religion, free of extremism and fanatic views to the world.
To conclude, I would like to express my gratitude to the entire staff of the Centre, including administration staff, academics, teachers, imams, and volunteers, for their tremendous effort and tangible sacrifices in order for the Centre to fulfil its noble mission and continue its various programs and activities.
We pray to Allah the Almighty, to assist the Centre in carrying out its mission to the fullest extent possible that pleases Him – the Almighty – and to reward those who work to establish it with the best reward on the Day of Judgment, and to include us in the reward with them.
